The spacious art room at JSSPSHVG, helps to unleash the creative streak in students and the soothing ambience makes it a much sought after room. Art plays a vital role in the all-round development of the students towards moulding the thought process and values of life.

The Art Department at JSSPSHVG, is committed to the cause of nurturing creative thinking and artistic growth, through inspirational instruction and a structured, goal-oriented curriculum. Creativity is an inborn quality in children. Teachers guide and encourage them to explore and exhibit their hidden talent and artistic potential from the budding stages to develop as blooming artists.

Art Education in the pre-primary classes begin with learning and identifying different colours. The foundation course at the Primary school level is based on encouraging the students to explore the drawing skills, understand the theory of colours and colouring concepts, to get acquainted with the usage of various colouring materials, while practicing the art of blending colours.

The designing skill is evident in the various posters, props and models created for all annual events and fests, displaying an artistic touch of excellence.

FINE ART EDUCATION

”Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.” – Louise Nevelson
Art Education is an integral part of curriculum for Classes I to X. The participation of the students in arts, develops the aesthetic sense & appreciation amongst the children. Drawing and painting is the privilege of an artist and students express their emotions with the help of brush and colours.

  • It’s been proven that early exposure to visual art, music, or drama promotes activity in the brain.
  • Art helps children understand other subjects much more clearly—from math and science, to language arts and geography.
  • Art nurtures inventiveness as it engages children in a process that aids in the development of self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation.
  • Participating in art activities help children gain the tools necessary for understanding human experience, adapting to and respecting others’ ways of working and thinking, developing creative problem-solving skills, and communicating thoughts and ideas in a variety of ways.

This school has the honour of producing excellent child artists in large numbers. Under the able guidance of the Fine arts specialists, children are taught mixed collage, card board scripture, wall painting, clay modeling, print making, wood carving, modern art/design, ceramic painting, glass painting, flower making and greeting cards. Students are awarded grades instead of marks in these subjects.
