Yoga is a skill in the performance of actions. Yoga acts as a catalyst and unravels the many wonderful qualities that children possess. Apart from the apparent physical benefits, it helps the child become aware and focused. Even special children with learning disorders benefit immensely with yoga. Yoga enhances the power of thinking, creativity which in turn helps to develop the overall personality of the child. Yoga, adapted for school children, develops body awareness, language, good listening skills, co-operation and powers of observation. It teaches pre-school children about nature, their environment and inspires their imaginations. It prepares them for breathing techniques used in yoga. They learn by playing, singing, moving and imitating.
